Great Optics Sep 30, 2010
By napenda chapati As most would probably expect, swarovskis latest binoculars are amazing. They have great depth of field, quick focus, amazing clarity and brightness, and are very comfortable in your hand. I am currently working as a counter for a hawk migration count and have used them everyday for the last three weeks. Before biting the bullet and getting these I was using vortex fury 10X42's which are quite good binoculars. I got the swaovskis and suddenly I could see the barring on the chests of adult Broad-winged Hawks. I had seen probably 200 adults before getting these binoculars and had not been able to make out the barring on any of them. Also, the amazing image provided by these bins greatly reduces eye strain. The close focus is quite good. I am 5'7" and can almost look down and get my feet in focus, so basically anything interesting that happens to be in front of my feet is in focal range. Stop thinking about it and pull the trigger on these, you'll be happy that you did, and with the lifetime unlimited warranty they'll be the last binoculars you'll ever buy (or want).

10x42 Swarovision Bino. Dec 29, 2010
By William Jayne
"Bill"
I first learned about this binocular from a review in Hunting Club magazine, which praised it highly. We do lot's of bird watching from our greenhouse, and decided to upgrade from our 9x63 Pentax glass. We are very impressed with the Swarovision glass. Flat field and outstanding clarity and brightness. Easily the best binocular I have ever used. The ability to focus down to 5 feet allows study of the smallest details of the birds coming to our feeders. We intend to use the glass with a tripod, since hand-holding a 10x is challenging.

Swarovski EL 10x42 binoculars Sep 09, 2011
By Jay Ryno I have had these binoculars for less than a year. Before the EL 10x42s I was using Carl Zeiss (Jena) 7x50 binoculars. The 7x50s have excellent optics, and are extremely easy to use.
I just got back from a 2 week trip to Alaska. I used the EL 10x42s exclusively. The optics are amazing. The weight was not an issue, in fact I hardly noticed I had the binoculars on. The ergonomics were excellent.
I have 2 minor issues with the EL 10x42s. First, since the 7x50s are "automatic"; ie, no focusing required, I was not use to having to focus. I found that, at times, it was hard to sharply focus the EL 10x42s; particular in an moving vehicle, and thru glass (the 7x50s might have proved better in these situations). This was rather annoying. When I was able to focus the EL 10x42s were absolutely amazing. The second issue was the lens cap (objective) kept falling off. There should be a more secure method of attachment to the body of the binoculars.
Overall, I am very pleased with the EL 10x42s. They will become my "go to" binoculars. I highly recommend the Swarovski EL 10x42s.
